Alright, I will admit beforehand that this review may have a bit of bias since I am a Christian. But of course, this animation is clearly very controversial.
I will admit that the animation was pretty well animated and the art style was decent, the voice acting seemed to fit up well, leaving me with the writing. Now again, being a Christian, if I were to say the writing was bad, that opinion would be moot by my beliefs, but I didn't get the joke here. Was it that God didnt want to answer the prayer because he was masturbating? That's not a funny joke. Like, even if it wasn't God, that still wouldn't be funny. The fact it IS God makes it worse for Christian viewers. It basically puts out the message that some kid is having a horrible life and no one will help him, not even God. Not exactly a happy tone or a funny joke. Again, I'm likely worked up by the whole God thing. Now, I'm not a Christian who flips a shit whenever God is portrayed as not perfect. Take SMBC (Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal). They portray him in a manner that is still very comical, even though it technically doesnt keep up with orthodox beliefs. Here, it's just a bit across the line.
I won't go out and call you a terrible person, but if you want more people to enjoy your animation, keep God out of it. Or if you do put him in it, present him more maturely. Since he's a flippin big deal. Do that, and I'll look forward to your future animations.
